Polarity GPS
A map shows you what is popular around you.
Popular is not the same as present. What is alive at the neighborhood scale, the store that has been there twenty years, the church that anchors the block, the people who actually spend their time there, is not what recommendation surfaces, because it does not optimize for engagement. That gap is what GPS measures.
Presence
Presence is who is really there and how time is really spent, set against the thin proxy a map keeps of it. Polarity GPS reads places into the same picture of you that you own, so where you go and how you spend your time there becomes part of your graph, not a platform's.
Where it is going
The horizon is a shared map of how people actually spend their time in the places they move through. Not a feed of what is trending, but a living picture of presence, built from the time people really give a place. A first version is live at polaritygps.com, with community partners MUSEOFRI and GOODhumanz in Providence.
Where we are
In research and development. A first version is live and community partnerships are established. The presence map and the formal study are what come next.
